Hole #1, Par 4

Hole Description

The first hole on Hickory Hills is one of the most exciting and demanding starting holes in all of central Ohio. Your round begins with a tree lined fairway that is actually wider than it looks and challenges you mentally as well as physically. A well-played tee shot favors the right side of the fairway and carries you up and over a hill which was originally a quarry leaving you with a flat lie and an excellent view of the green that slopes back to front and is protected by bunkers on the front left and to the rear. The undulating and sloped green offers the player a wide variety of breaking putts. Keeping your ball out of the trees and below the cup is the way to play this spectacular and occasionally difficult starting hole.
